We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and socially conscious Pro Bono Case Handler to provide direct legal representation to community members in need. In this role, you will manage individual legal matters from intake to resolution, offering expert counsel, drafting necessary filings, and advocating for our clients' rights within the judicial or administrative system. Key Responsibilities
Direct Representation: Provide end-to-end legal representation for clients in matters such as housing disputes, public benefits appeals, civil rights advocacy, or family law, ensuring robust and zealous defense of their interests.

Case Strategy & Execution: Assess case merits, develop sound legal theories, gather evidence, and prepare all necessary pleadings, motions, and trial/hearing materials.

Client Counseling: Conduct regular meetings with clients to explain legal proceedings, evaluate options, manage expectations, and provide empathetic, clear guidance.

Negotiation & Mediation: Represent clients in settlement negotiations, mediation sessions, and informal conferences, striving to achieve favorable outcomes that avoid protracted litigation when appropriate.

Procedural Mastery: Adhere strictly to court rules, filing deadlines, and procedural requirements for the specific jurisdictions and tribunals where representation occurs.

Collaborative Partnership: Maintain active communication with staff attorneys, paralegals, and social workers to ensure a holistic approach to client needs and case preparation.

Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain meticulous case records, time logs, and status updates within our case management system to ensure accurate reporting and organizational oversight.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree; active bar membership in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction is strictly required.

Experience: 3+ years of post-bar experience in litigation, public interest law, or a specialized legal practice area.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in legal research platforms (Westlaw/LexisNexis) and electronic court filing systems.

Strong aptitude for document management and case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase).
