We are seeking an inspirational, organized, and dedicated Volunteer Manager to lead our volunteer operations for large-scale events. In this role, you will be the heart of our community engagement, responsible for building, training, and retaining a high-performing volunteer workforce. Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Strategy & Outreach: Develop comprehensive recruitment campaigns to attract diverse volunteers, managing partnerships with community groups, schools, and corporate sponsors.
Onboarding & Training: Design and deliver engaging orientation programs that equip volunteers with the knowledge, safety protocols, and operational skills required for their roles.
Placement & Scheduling: Coordinate strategic placement based on volunteer skills and event needs, maintaining precise schedules to ensure optimal coverage during all event phases.
Engagement & Retention: Cultivate a vibrant volunteer community through consistent communication, recognition programs, and meaningful engagement activities that boost morale and loyalty.
On-Site Coordination: Serve as the primary leader and point of contact for volunteers during events, ensuring they are supported, motivated, and performing effectively in their assigned areas.
Operational Compliance: Oversee volunteer data management, including tracking hours, maintaining signed waivers, and ensuring compliance with all safety and insurance mandates.
Post-Event Evaluation: Gather volunteer feedback, analyze program metrics (e.g., retention, satisfaction, hours contributed), and develop strategies for continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Non-profit Management, Communications, Human Resources, or a related field; volunteer management certification (e.g., CVA) is highly preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of experience in volunteer management, community organizing, or event-based personnel leadership.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in volunteer management software (e.g., VolunteerMatters, Volgistics, or similar platforms).
Strong aptitude for digital communication tools, project management software, and scheduling systems.
Experience with data analysis and reporting on engagement metrics.
